Welcome to the superhero franchise, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Sony Pictures Chairman Tom Rothman confirmed the new movie's title Tuesday while giving a presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The new title is meant to be a reference to the high school event (Peter Parker is a high school student, after all) and also his desire to "find his true identity and where he really belongs in this world." It's also a slight wink at Spidey's return to the Marvel universe.

Homecoming's Peter will be played by Tom Holland, who is filling the shoes of both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. When Holland's casting was first announced, the Twitterverse (and Marvel obsessors) were none too pleased with the choice. Fans noted about three problems with the decision: First, the comic book movie went with a white male for a lead...again. Second, Holland looks a little too young to play a high school student. Third, did the world really need another Peter Parker?

Until the film's release, however, we'll just have to get by on what we're offered. At the CinemaCon presentation, Rothman played footage from the upcoming installment, which revealed there would be one heck of a crossover featuring Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) In the scene Peter comes home to find his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) talking to the Stark Industries president.

"It's so hard for me to believe that she's someone aunt," Stark jokes, making light of the previous ages of past actresses who have played Aunt May.

The Spider-Man-Iron Man crossover is a possibility because Sony Pictures struck a deal with Marvel, allowing the characters to appear in each other's films. Holland will be appearing as Spider-Man in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War that will be released next month.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is set for a July 7, 2017, release. Are you excited for the reboot? Sound off in the comments!
