Eric Stonestreet is just like us—looking for love on an app.

The Modern Family star reveals to Ellen DeGeneres Tuesday that he has joined the dating app Tinder. After trying his hand at another app, Bumble, Stonestreet decided to move on to what the rest of the world was using. "Now I've done Bumble and I've tried this other one and the way I justify it, Ellen, is I shouldn't be because I'm on TV, I shouldn't be eliminated from participating in what's going on in the world," he explains on the host's daytime talk show.

He admits that some of his friends are surprised that he would sign up for such an experience, given his exposure on the hit ABC comedy. "But people are always like, 'I can't believe you're on a dating app,'" he adds, "It's like well ya know, I very rarely meet people because I get nervous."

He clarifies that he doesn't get "nervous" to talk to people, instead he gets anxious about meeting his matches in real life. When Ellen asks how many potential people he's met, he gets coy. "Hmm, I'm sorry hmmm?" he jokes.

"I've had all varying degrees of fun," he finally admits. Ellen tries to push him further about his "fun," but he doesn't relent.

"Is this show on at late night now and I don't know about it?" he jests.

Stonestreet was previously linked to Bethenny Frankel, who told the Today show that she was "happy" with the actor. She also explained, however, that she wasn't tying herself down to one man. "I am dating and I am having a really good time," Frankel said before plugging one of her recent projects. "In my book, I Suck at Relationships, I talk about working the burners. You want something on simmer, something boiling, taken something off."

"Wait, do you have multiple burners going right now?" Savannah Guthrie asked.

"I mean, I may be working the burners. I think that's what women should do. I mean, I haven't been that lucky in relationships, so it's going to be a while until I profess my undying love, but the Today show will be the first place that I tell if I have anything to tell, because you know I'm an open book," Frankel said.
