McKiwi did warn us things were going to get "much worse" on Grey's Anatomy, and he wasn't lying!

In the ABC hit drama's April 7 episode, "I Wear the Face," the tension between Nathan (Martin Henderson) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) finally reached its breaking point while on a run to pick up a transplant organ with Meredith (Ellen Pompeo).

While fans knew the rift between the former friends had to do with the death of Owen's sister, we finally learned the full backstory behind the "war" between the two docs. The trio's trip got off to a rocky start basically from the moment the key turned in the ignition, when Nathan revealed he bought Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) a drink a few months ago, not knowing she was an alcoholic.

And things only got worse when Owen, Nathan and Meredith arrived for their transplant heart, only to find out that they lost it, leading Owen to lash out. "Disaster happens wherever you are...like with Megan," he accused, before Nathan stormed and Meredith advised him that he needed to let it go, adding that Nathan didn't know about Amelia's alcoholism and tried to talk Megan, Owen's late sister, off of the chopper. And that's when Owen dropped the truth bomb on her AND us.

"He didn't say anything to her. He wasn't anywhere near that chopper, he was off screwing some woman from supply court," Owen revealed. "That's why Meghan got on the chopper to get away from him. My sister was leaving him. When I said we hate him, I meant it." And he really did, as in a later confrontation with Nathan, he told his former friend that he needed to stop lying and stop fooling everyone. "You can't just come in here and pretend to be this guy," "You can't just take more people away from me." (Hm...but do we think there is more to the story?)

Aside from the Owen-Nathan fallout, the episode marked Wilmer Valderrama's debut as musician Kyle Diaz, an MS patient who is admitted into the hospital after a tremor in his hand impacts his concert plans. But he wasn't going to let that get in the way of a potential hookup with one of the show's ladies: Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton), and the two look to have a real connection underneath all the innocent flirtation. (We were into it, TBH.)

Oh, and as for April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) and their baby drama? Scared that Jackson is going to sue her for full-custody (it's really his mom who was planning on suing for fraud), April decided to strike first, with Jackson being served with a restraining order by the end of the episode...just as April found Jackson's sweet gift: a new crib and a sweet note saying he was OK with whatever she wanted to do. Oops.

Grey's Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
