Outlander Season 2

Starz

So long, Droughtlander.

After months of torturous waiting, Outlander's season two premiere is just around the corner, people. That corner, of course, being Saturday, April 9. And guess what? As a reward for your patience, Starz is giving fans the option to watch the highly anticipated return TWO whole days early on Thursday, April 7. How? Well, it's time to grab your deviceand get to downloadin'.

The network's new Starz app officially launches today and is available for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV, as well as Android devices. The app will cost $8.99 per month, and, in addition to the Outlander season two premiere, subscribers will have access to over 2,400 options, including TV shows and movies, per Starz's official announcement.  (And if you're already a Starz subscriber, you can also view the season two premiere on the app.)

"Starz has entered the market today with an enormous value proposition for consumers," the network's CEO Chris Albrecht said in a statement. "Our programing will now be more widely available to the 20 million broadband only homes of cord nevers, cord cutters and cord shavers, including Millennials and other underserved consumers who need other viable subscription service options."

Based on the second of eight books in Diana Gabaldon's series, "Dragonfly in Amber," season two will pick up with Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) arriving in Paris, determined to infiltrate the Jacobite rebellion and stop the battle of Culloden. And fans can expect season two to get "much more political," according to boss Ronald D. Moore

"It's much more conspiracy, it's much more lies and gossips and double dealing in Paris salons and so on, and building towards a war," Moore told us. "It's all setting the stage for the Jacobite invasion of Scotland, and will history repeat itself."

Outlander officially returns on Saturday, April 9 on Starz.
