"Look, Team Black Velvet, we are a very interesting team."
That's putting it mildly, Mischa Barton! Through the three episodes she lasted on Dancing With the Stars, it was clear that there was some tension between The O.C. star and her professional partner, Artem Chigvintsev...and they weren't holding back in front of the cameras. Sadly, the pair was just finding their rhythm as partners when they were eliminated at the end of Monday night's show, following their performance to Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A."
"It had been a really intense first few weeks," Mischa admitted to E! News' Sibley Scoles after her elimination, with Artem adding they had a "rought start," but he ultimately felt "we did our best and that's what it is."
So why the tension early on?
I think we're the only couple in the competition who had first tough two weeks and then you're kind of gasping for the air of the change," Artem said, while Mischa admitted to feeling a little overwhelmed in the beginning by the intense rehearsals. "I came straight out of a film, came into this, thought I was going to get this dance training," she said, "and it's been a fun experience and I've learned a lot from Artem."
Still, it was an interesting journey for both Mischa and Artem, who often clashed during rehearsals, with the 30-year-old actress joking, "We should've had our own show!"
But in the last few days of rehearsals, things were improving, with Artem telling us, "This week I feel like we accomplished...so much and the last four rays of training, we've done so much more in the past five weeks of training in general ,that I feel like we're finally getting somewhere positive. We're achieving our goals, we keep smiling and having positive energy in the room and that's the time you're going home."
