Watch: JoJo Fletcher Sounds Off on Becoming New "Bachelorette"

2016 has been a busy year for JoJo Fletcher.

Just two days after it was announced on during the After the Final Rose ceremony that Ben Higgins' runner-up would be the next Bachelorette, cameras officially started rolling on her season, set to premiere on May 23. Like they always say: There ain't no rest for the beautiful.

While it may not seem like there was a lot of time for JoJo to get over Ben choosing to propose to Lauren Bushnell in the finale, the new Bachelorette exclusively tells E! News she has "moved on" from that relationship.

"Right after my relationship ended with Ben, I had some time at home to think about everything," JoJo says in the exclusive video above. "I feel like I got to a place where I moved on and I was happy, and then it came to me and I felt like I was more ready than ever. The timing felt right and I was really excited."

ABC

This season of The Bachelor featured a major first in the franchise's history, with Ben telling both Lauren and JoJo he loved them, which shocked Bachelor Nation and made Ben's decision to let JoJo go even more heartbreaking. But JoJo assures us she isn't angry with Ben for saying those three words to her.

"I never thought there was anything wrong with Ben saying 'I love you' to both of us, it just didn't work out for me," she says. "I'm good friends with Lauren and I think Ben's amazing, but he just wasn't the right one for me. I know that I'm more than ready to find someone now."

But is JoJo going to make it a rule for herself NOT to say "I love you" to anyone after what she went through with Ben? "I don't really have any rules," the 25-year-old real estate developer tells us. "I'm just going to do what I feel like doing."

Viewers will have to wait until the season 12 premiere on May 23 to officially see JoJo in action as the Bachelorette, but creator Mike Fleiss has been posting a few updates from set on Twitter, including how many guys she's kissed and the gifts they brought her on the first night. "JoJo is doing great. Happy and enjoying her journey!!" Fleiss tweeted

"JoJo is over the moon," a source told us. "She is so excited and she's really, really looking forward to hopefully getting engaged. That's why she's there. Not for career, not for anything else. She's dying to meet the right guy and get engaged."

But is the right guy among the 25 suitors she met on the first night? To hear JoJo open up even more about her Bachelorette journey, watch E! News tonight at 7 and 11 p.m.

The Bachelorette premieres Monday, May 23 on ABC.
