The Weeknd will be noticeably absent from the European leg of Rihanna's world tour.

"Due to some unforeseen changes with upcoming projects, The Weeknd will no longer be joining Rihanna on her upcoming international Anti World Tour," a rep for the R&B crooner confirmed to E! News Wednesday.

The Grammy winner was slated to hit the stage with RiRi on June 11 in Amsterdam, jump starting what would have been a two-month overseas stint for the talented duo.

Though the "Work" singer has yet to speak publicly regarding the sudden change of plans, The Weeknd did offer a fairly cryptic message on social media last night. "it's my job to make music... not to convince you," the musician wrote on Twitter.

Concert-goers can rest easy knowing The Weeknd bowing out won't hamper Rihanna's performance in the slightest, though. Big Sean—whose name was on the original tour announcement back in November—will still join the Barbadian beauty in Europe.

The North American leg of the Anti World Tour has been underway for just about a month, where rapper Travis Scott has been helping to heat things up. Even Drake made a surprise appearance alongside the 28-year-old in Miami, giving diehard fans even more reason to swoon over their steamy onstage connection.
