Congrats to Bella Hadid, newly minted Model of the Year! The beauty beamed at the Daily Front Row's Fashion LA Awards (alongside boyfriend The Weeknd), exuding major star power of the Mediterranean variety.
"When you look at Bella, she reminds me of a young Italian movie star," said celeb makeup artist Vincent Oquendo. "She has the look of a young Sophia Loren to me, so I'm often channeling modern Italian sex bomb when I create her makeup looks."
The 19-year-old model wore a distressed tuxedo dress paired with sleek hair and barely there makeup—a luminescent look created by both the client and pro.
"Bella is always a pleasure to work with," said the beauty expert. "We have been working together for a while now so there's a level of trust we have. She shows me the outfit, and we tend to chat back and forth about what we think would suit the outfit."
Working with EX1 Cosmetics, Vincent shared the behind-the-scenes steps to get this Sicilian bombshell-inspired look at home.
To create a base, use "fluffy brushes to apply the foundation. This is my favorite trick in the world. I tend to use my blush brush to apply a veil of the foundation. [It] gives off that light, airbrushed look. The foundation never comes out heavy and caked on," said Vincent.
Next, use Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow to contour and highlight the face, followed by Smashbox Bronze Lights and EX1 Blusher in Peach to get that glowy finish.
Cover any under-eye circles or dark spots with EX1 Delete Concealer and fill in the brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz to enhance the eyes without overdoing it.
For the lips, apply Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pilowtalk and Smashbox O-Plump Intuitive Lip Plumper for a pop of color.
