It seems like Blake Shelton took a different approach than his ladylove Gwen Stefani when it came to putting together his new album.

While the No Doubt singer has been very open about using her new album This Is What the Truth Feels Like as a form of healing from her split with hubby Gavin Rossdale (and also a way to gush about her new romance with Shelton), the country crooner has revealed that there won't be any juicy tidbits about his highly publicized divorce from Miranda Lambert on his project.

During an exclusive interview airing Friday on CMT After MidNite, The Voice coach explained, "It's not like there's all these juicy details [in the record], but [country music] lends itself to emotions and things that you go through when you go through a divorce and, more so, the getting over that and moving on and finding someone else."

The country crooner continues to say that he's "super, super proud of" his new music, and reflects on the roller coaster ride he's been on recently.

"The last year and a half of my life has literally blown up in my face," Blake said. "That's OK because I'm a country singer, and I at least get to take all that and put it into music... [I] couldn't be happier with the way ‘Came Here to Forget' has [taken] off."

"Came Here to Forget" is the first single off of his album, and describes a pair coming together in a bar to drink and get over their exes. In fact, a few of the lyrics read: "Girl getting over him and I'm getting over her / The eyes have it made, ain't gotta say a word / Misery loves company, that's why it's you and me."

(Hm, that sounds interesting.)

The chorus continues the theme of the song, "Keep salting the rim, getting even with her / Getting even with him, before the night is over...You better keep on keepin' it lit / Til we can't remember / Can't remember why we came here to forget."

Shelton's album If I'm Honest drops May 20.
