A little more than a week stands between Gal Gadot making her big screen debut as Wonder Woman, and she's still reeling at the fact that she gets to play such a great superhero.

Gadot appears on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday and tells the afternoon talk show host all about how she came to land the top secret, but coveted role. After attending an audition with director Zack Snyder for an unidentified role, Snyder called Gadot and asked her if she had ever heard of Wonder Woman and whether she'd want to read with Ben Affleck.

"I went dead for like five seconds, came back to life and tried to pull off my coolest voice saying, 'Wonder Woman...yeah, I've heard of her,'" she says.

She flew back from Israel, completed her task and thought she would hear if she'd landed the part right away. It didn't turn out that way.

"I waited very patiently for two weeks, and I had a very positive feeling about that," she dishes to host Ellen DeGeneres. Upon landing on another flight, Gadot turned on her phone to 30 missed calls from her agents. Still sitting on the tarmac, Gadot freaked out.

Gadot has a 4-year-old daughter named Alma, who loves to play with dolls and talk princes and princesses, but she prefers princes.

"'They always fall asleep and then the prince is the one to wake them up and they do nothing,'" Gadot recalls her daughter explaining.

And that's precisely why Gadot feels like "the luckiest girl in the world." Playing Wonder Woman, Gadot has the opportunity to give her daughter a female role model.

"That made me feel really good," Gadot says.

The Fast & the Furious actress previously told Entertainment Weekly that she was relieved her daughter would have another superhero by which she can be motivated. "Most of the movies, the men are in charge, the men are the most powerful ones," Gado noted. "You've had Superman and Batman and everyone, but Wonder Woman was never there."

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25.
