One day after his wife, Joey Feek, lost her six-month battle to cervical cancer, Rory Feek is back home in Tennessee.

The country singer posted a photo on Instagram that showed his adorable toddler with Joey, Indiana Feek, riding on his shoulders and getting a kick out of two horses on a ranch.

Rory kept his caption short for the emotional photo by writing, "home."

Yesterday, he penned a lengthy post on his website announcing that his wife had passed away at age 40.

"My wife's greatest dream came true today. She is in Heaven," he wrote. "The cancer is gone, the pain has ceased and all her tears are dry. Joey is in the arms of her beloved brother Justin and using her pretty voice to sing for her savior."

Rory continued, "When a person has been through as much pain and struggle as Joey's been through, you just want it to be over. You want them to not have to hurt anymore, more than you want them to stay with you…After four-and-a-half months in Indiana, we will soon be back home in Tennessee. My, and our little one, with our older daughters. It's hard to imagine being there without Joey, but at the same time…it is where she wants us to be."

He concluded by saying that Joey's presence will be felt everywhere in their home and farm, from "the mind growing beside our back deck" to the "sweet-corn frozen in our freezer."

"Joey will still be with us. Everywhere."
