Amanda Bynes, Twitter

Amanda Bynes' new hairstyle is all that and more!

The former child star surprised fans Tuesday evening when she returned to Twitter with a brand-new selfie. While posing for the camera, followers noticed a shorter and lighter hairdo that totally caught everyone's attention.

"Hi everyone!" she wrote to her 3 million followers. "I got a haircut! What do you think?"

In our humble opinion, the 29-year-old nailed the lob trend while also opting for some side bangs.

As for the color, it appears slightly lighter than the style she showcased before the holidays in December. Nonetheless, it still helps bring out her colorful eyes.

Amanda's rare tweet comes as the Hairspray and She's the Man star continues to work on her studies. Earlier this month, E! News confirmed that the actress is working hard at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles. In fact, she's doing very well in her latest quarter of classes.

"She keeps to herself, but she seems really healthy and focused on her schooling," a source shared with E! News. "She seems like she's in a much better place and she looks great."

Our insider continued, "No one really treats her any differently because she's Amanda Bynes. You can tell she really just wants to be a normal student. Everyone at FIDM is really chill and respects her and her space."

As for those closest to Amanda, they are more than impressed with the progress she has made and continues to make.

"We are all so proud of her," Amanda's attorney told E! News when she first returned to school last fall. "We can't wait to see her amazing designs on the runway someday."
