Ladies and gentlemen, your American Idol top 14 have been chosen—by the judges. But don't worry: You'll finally get the chance to flex your dialing (or texting) fingers next week during the first live shows of the season, which will see the field narrowed from 14 to the last-ever Idol top 10.

Yes, kind of confusing. Basically, you can start voting next week. Yay?

Season 15 is shorter than normal, which is why the semifinals have gone a little differently. But we're almost to the final stretch of live shows, which means we're almost ready to crown the last Idol winner who will follow in Kelly Clarkson's shoes.

Last week, the judges gave us the first seven semifinalists: La'Porsha Renae, Sonika Vaid, Avalon Young, Gianna Isabella, Thomas Stringfellow, MacKenzie Bourg and Jeneve Rose Mitchell.

This week, they named the second seven: Olivia Rox, Dalton Rappatoni, Tristan McIntosh, Jenn Blosil, Lee Jean, Manny Torres and Trent Harmon.

That means Shelbie Z didn't advance while the woefully out of tune Blosil did (she was great in earlier rounds, but woof). Justice for Shelbie Z! It's cool, we'll just be over here starting our Shelbie Z and Jessica Cabral fan sites. (Kind of kidding…kind of not.)

We also need to talk about the duets each of the top 24 did with former Idol finalists and winners. In theory, they were cool, but in reality, it was kind of weird. We haven't actually been able to get invested in any of these contestants, and we don't really have a full sense of their musical tastes and abilities. The producers would've been way better off saving the duets for a future round when we actually care a little bit more about the people the all-stars are singing with.

What do you think of the top 14? Are you shocked Jenn made it and Shelbie didn't? What do you think of the format of the semifinals this year?
