Live from New York, it's... Deadpool?

Hero and visionary Andrew Stege has created a Change.org petition calling for Saturday Night Live to have Marvel anti-hero Deadpool host the late-night comedy show.

The Deadpool film starring Ryan Reynolds opened in theaters this past weekend, breaking the record of the biggest R-rated movie opening at the box office.

The hilariously funny (and seriously twisted) character has clearly struck a chord with audiences.

In the petition, which has already garnered over 25,000 signatures, Stege writes: "How would this not be hilarious having Deadpool in sketches, breaking the fourth wall, and inserting some of his brand of humor (obviously toned down a bit for network television?!)"

Another benefit to having Deadpool host SNL?

Depending on the musical guest, we would most likely be treated to some sweet "interpretive dancing."

"There's unlimited possibilities," adds the petition.

The letter appeals to Lorne Michaels, Saturday Night Live, Ryan Reynolds, and NBC.

As for what kind of character work we could expect from a host like Deadpool, who knows?

Would the SNL team slap a Donald Trump-inspired wig on him for a political cold open?

Stretch a Spider-Man suit over the Deadpool suit for some superhero mockery?

If this movement picks up enough steam, we might find out!
