Céline Dion's husband René Angélil, rock icon David Bowie and Glenn Frey, founding member of rock group The Eagles, were among those honored in the 2016 Grammys In Memoriam tribute.

Other music artists who passed away over the past year and were honored included rockers Scott Weiland and influential Motörhead frontman Ian Fraser Kilmister, aka Lemmy, blues legend B.B. King, "Stand By Me" singer Ben E. King, soul singer Natalie Cole, "It's My Party" singer Lesley GoreEarth, Wind and Fire member Maurice White, Jefferson Airplane members Paul Kantner and Signe Anderson and YES founding member Chris Squire.

Angélil died at age 73 on Jan. 14. He was the father of Dion's three children and worked as her manager. He was also a singer and producer.

Dion's hit ballad "My Heart Will Go On," the title song from Titanic and a popular song at funerals, was one of several tracks played during the In Memoriam segment.

Film composer James Horner, who composed the music for Titanic, was also honored. He died at age 61 in a plane crash last June.

Bowie, King and Frey also received musical tributes at the Grammys.

Lady Gaga performed a medley of Bowie's hit songs, channeling his glam rock alter ego Ziggy Stardust. Bowie died at age 69 on Jan. 10 after battling cancer. 

Chris Stapleton, Bonnie Raitt and Gary Clark Jr. performed a musical tribute to King, who passed away at age age 89 last May.

The surviving members of The Eagles and Jackson Browne performed the band's 1972 hit "Take It Easy" to pay homage to Frey. He died at age 67 on Jan. 18.
