Quick poll: Where do you sit when you aren't from the groom or the bride's side at a wedding?
That was the case for many former stars of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette when they attended Bachelor in Paradise's Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert's ceremony on Jan. 24, which aired as part of ABC's The Bachelor at 20: A Celebration of Love special on Sunday night.
I have not met Jade and Tanner, it's really weird that I am at their wedding. I think it's so weird!" former Bachelor Bob Guiney told E! News before the ceremony, before jokingly adding, "I have a best man speech for Jade and Tanner tonight!" (He did say he's met some of their family members though.)
But he wasn't the only franchise alum who had yet to meet the bride or groom, as Andi Dorfman admitted to us, "I've seen them on TV and I've been obsessed with their story...I'm a total fangirl!"
Even weirder than attending a wedding for a couple you've yet to actually meet? Attending the wedding of your ex, like Chris Soules, who sent Jade home during his season of The Bachelor. Sounds awkward, right? Nope, not awkward for Jade's family at all, actually!
"Jade's mom came up to me and said, ‘You're the reason all this happened. I told Jade to go on the show to meet you,'" Soules said. "And obviously it didn't work out between her and I but the end result was her finding true love with Tanner. So that was a cool moment when she told me that."
But even though he's getting some credit for the BIP wedding, Prince Farming said, "I'm still going to get her a gift. I definitely owe Jade a gift after what I put her through!"
Totally down to consider her presence a gift? Kaitlyn Bristowe, who didn't give Tanner a rose during her season of The Bachelorette. "Basically, this is happening because of me," she joked, along with beau Shawn Booth. "We are the gift!"
