If you're not actually at NYFW (facing the chilling temperatures, catching glimpses of big-time celebs, seeing all the latest designs, etc.), it's almost impossible to decipher, on your own, what was actually notable and significant. So, without further ado, here's everything you need to know from yesterday, Day 1.

It was all about low-key luxury. Think: lots of coats, turtlenecks, casual blazers and ripped jeans.

Yeezus Walks: Kanye West showcased his third-ever Yeezy collection at Madison Square Garden—no big deal. All the Kardashians were present (in head-to-toe, custom Balmain), Naomi Campbell modeled in the show and Lamar Odom made his first official appearance since being hospitalized last fall.

Let Down Your Hair: "Snoop Dogg-inspired" braids ruled the Creatures of Wind runway while almost everyone else went with everyday hair—left down in its natural state. Designers Shane Gabier and Christopher Peters, members of the Swarovski Collective, also used 238,000 crystals to bedazzle their fall/winter collection in the most surprisingly subtle way possible.

Fresh Faces Are Back: Barely-there makeup is still alive and well. Also, stock up on dark lipstick because that seems to be trending.

Imperfect Eyeliner Is Officially a Thing: Adam Selman knows his way around a party girl—as told by the dark eyeliner on his models (and the fact he's Rihanna's right-hand designer).
