Taylor Swift, Blank Space

Hello, it's the iHeartRadio Music Awards and the nominations have just been announced. If one thing is clear, Adele is officially back in the American award game.

The singer joined Taylor Swift and The Weeknd in topping the list for the most coveted nominations in this year's annual lineup, including new categories for Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

Since she was not eligible for any Grammy Award nominations this year—the deadline for consideration preceded her album's release date—Adele's highly anticipated third record, 25, is finally being recognized in the award arena of American music with five nominations.

However, Swift surpassed the British beauty with seven nominations, including Most Meme-able Moment, Best Fan Army and Best Tour.

The Weeknd tied with the "Blank Space" singer, also garnering seven nominations, including two nominations for R&B Song of the Year.  If you ask us, with his steady stream of solid hits this year, the crooner certainly "earned it."
