Alec and Magnus, sitting in a tree…

Shadowhunters fans, the magical moment is here. Demon hunter Alec (Matthew Daddario) and centuries old warlock Magnus Bane (Harry Shum Jr.) are about to go on their first date!

But before the Malec magic happens, you'll want to see how well the two actors got to know each other while filming the first season. E! News caught up with the duo to talk all things Malec, and things got kind of silly.

Now you can find out who watches trash TV, who is more likely to help an old lady cross the street, who listens to terrible music, and who takes the most selfies. Bonus: We also got them to imitate each other's go-to selfie faces, so you definitely want to watch the whole thing to see whose expression is the best.

"I'm really happy with what we did with it, and I think I'm very proud of it, and I think that we've done something very effective," Daddario told us of the Malec relationship ahead of the series premiere. Added Shum, "and done with care."

By now you've seen the budding relationship between the two men, but even if you're not familiar with where their pairing goes in the books, Shum thinks audiences will be pleased with where it ends up.

"For audiences that haven't read the books or don't even know what that word means," explains Shum, "I think we've done well with the show with pleasing the fans that do know about it and also the fans that can learn and see the story unfold between those two characters." (Another juicy tease that should please fans of the couple? The 12th episode of the season is titled "Malec.")

Shadowhunters airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Freeform.
