Kelly Clarkson's second pregnancy is nothing but a blessing but her due date is falling at an inconvenient time for her schedule.

Her yet-to-be-born son is still in the womb, but already he's forcing his mom to make some pretty tough choices ahead of his birth. The original winner of American Idol, Kelly is supposed to appear on the show that launched her to fame as a guest judge, but she was also supposed to attend the Grammys, where she's up for two nominations.

"I was going to do the Grammys and Idol, and then my doctor was kind of like, I just have such hard pregnancies, flying back and forth to L.A., like if they were closer together, I would've done both, but I had to kind of choose one," she explained to On Air With Ryan Seacrest.

The 33-year-old songstress is up for Best Solo Performance for "Heartbeat Song" and Best Pop Vocal Album for Piece by Piece at the Grammys, but the annual awards show is going to have to wait.

"I obviously chose Idol because it's ending and I was the original winner, so it'd kinda be weird if I wasn't there," she said. "I'm unfortunately going to have to miss the Grammys."

American Idol's executive producer Trish Kinane announced Kelly's participation in January, where she also shared some other special news about the winner's appearance. "We've invited her to be part of this season and she's really happy to be," Kinane revealed. "She will be a guest judge on our first live top 10 show and she'll also perform."

Timing, however, might not work out for her to appear on the finale, but they're trying to make it work. Other American Idol alums who have made "a huge contribution to the show" will also appear throughout season 15.

Simon Cowell has yet to confirm whether or not he'll appear on the show's final season.

But host Ryan Seacrest later teased, "Simon's hung up on his lighting. We did speak and I think you'll see the original faces back on the show before it's over."

We'll just have to wait and see!
