George Clooney has a lot of planning to do in February.

Not only is his wife Amal's birthday on Feb. 3, but we all know that less than two weeks later it's Valentine's Day. "I'm ready for it," the Oscar winner told E! News' Maria Menounos today while he and Channing Tatum promoted their new comedy Hail, Caesar! "I'm prepared."

He did, however, stop short of revealing his plans because he didn't want to ruin any surprise.

In Hail, Caesar!, Clooney stars as a 1950s movie star filming a movie in which he plays the leader of the Roman Empire.

"From the minute I got the role, I put on the leather dress and wore it everywhere," Clooney joked about his elaborate tunic costume.

He also recalled dying his hair jet black for the movie. "After I'd wrap I'd change into normal clothes and I'd go to dinner with my wife and people would see me with black hair and they'd be like 'Really, dude? Really?' I'm like, 'It's for a movie,'" he said. "They thought I was that guy. It was a little embarrassing." (For the record, Amal turns 38 on Wednesday and George is 54.)

Tatum not only tap dances in the movie, but he also sings. However, he's not looking to book the next live TV musical. "I'm not good at the live stuff," Tatum said. "I need a take two."

He was thoroughly impressed by last night's Grease: Live! "It was beautifully done," the Magic Mike star said. "They went for it. It was cool."

Directed and written by Joel and Ethan Coen, the Hail, Caesar! cast also includes Ralph Fiennes, Josh Brolin, Alden Ahrenreich, Tilda Swinton, Jonah Hill and Scarlett Johansson. The movie is in theaters on Feb. 5.

E! Online and Universal Pictures are both part of the NBCUniversal family.
