Apparently, the guys of 5 Seconds of Summer weren't totally camera-ready when they posed nude for Rolling Stone.

The Australian rock band members, Luke Hemmings, 19, Michael Clifford, 20, Calum Hood, 20, and Ashton Irwin, 21, appear naked on the cover of the music magazine's Jan. 14 issue, sporting various painted slogans all over their bodies.

"I wish I was a little more in shape for that," Irwin told E! News' Sibley Scoles at the 2016 G'Day Los Angeles Gala Thursday.

"We were so out of shape at that point but it's kinda better that way, I think," Hemmings said.

The nude shoot came as a surprise for the group.

"We had like a promo trip of like a few months and then we were told that we were gonna be naked on it and then we were like, 'Oh! OK,'" Clifford said.

The band members had also gotten naked during a rehearsal in September 2014. Hemmings shared a photo of their nude session on social media. A month earlier, Hood appeared in the buff in a Snapchat video, which went viral.
