In with the old, out with the new? For some of your favorite Lay's chip flavors....maybe.

Lay's is launching a Flavor Swap contest to find out if fans might want to see classic flavors get a big ol' fancy upgrade. You like the iconic Cheddar & Sour Cream? Well, how does Smoked Gouda & Chive grab you? Starting Feb. 8, you can taste the new versions for yourself and vote for which flavor you prefer: old-school or new-school. The winner of each matchup will stay on the store shelves, while the loser will be sent to the great grocery store in the sky.

We were able to try the new flavors ahead of the Flavor Swap contest and compare it to the classics, so we had a big E! Online taste-test to see what the masses preferred. If you're interested in our professional potato chip opinion (and who isn't?), check out the result of our taste-test below:

1. Heat Flavor Swap: Flamin' Hot vs. Fiery Roasted Habanero

Courtesy Lay's

Flamin' Hot: 55%
Fiery Roasted Habanero: 45%

Verdict: Though the votes seem pretty down the middle, we firmly believe that a classic like Flamin' Hot should never be replaced.

2. Cheese Flavor Swap: Cheddar & Sour Cream vs. Smoked Gouda & Chive

Courtesy Lay's

Cheddar & Sour Cream: 65%
Smoked Gouda & Chive: 35%

Verdict: The new flavor was very gouda (get it?!), but Cheddar & Sour Cream should be its own religion, honestly.

3. Barbecue Flavor Swap: Honey Barbecue vs. Korean Barbecue

Courtesy Lay's

Honey Barbecue: 100%
Korean Barbecue: 0% (wah wahhh)

Verdict: The votes kind of speak for themselves, eh?

4. Spice Flavor Swap: Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper vs. Olive Oil & Herbs

Courtesy Lay's

Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper: 23%
Olive Oil & Herbs: 77%

Verdict: This was the only flavor where the new version beat the classic one! It was delicious. See? We're not totally against change; we just need it in small doses.

If you want to save your favorite flavor, the voting starts Feb. 8 and ends on March 21. So if you're desperate to keep Flamin' Hot, better get your street team together!
