Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards are continuing to battle it out in the public eye for the sake of their two children, Sam and Lola Rose Sheen.

Earlier this week, Denise filed court papers claiming that her ex isn't sticking to the terms of a trust he set up for the two girls. The latest legal filings prompted Charlie's attorney, Marty Singer, to tell E! News that the actress is just trying "to use the children to get more money for her."

But a source tells us exclusively that money is the last thing on Denise's mind, and that she's "just trying to stick up for her kids and what was promised to them."

Our insider adds, "She is not asking for any more for herself. This has nothing to do with the divorce or the money she gets from that settlement. This is all about protecting the trust for her children."

In fact, our source close to the situation insists that "this isn't about money for Denise and [Marty] knows that. She is being attacked for standing up for her kids."

As for the former Two and a Half Men star's relationship with his two daughters, our source explains that Denise has never kept them from him.

"He sees them as much as he wants to. Denise feels it's important for them to have a relationship with their father. She would never keep them from him, that's why she agreed to move by him in the first place," the insider adds.

"Charlie's first concern should be with making sure his kids are cared for and that is not happening."
