Even though Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes decided to call it quits in 2013 after dating for several months, they've still remained friends. In fact, the duo came together for a new version of the former Wanted singer's love ballad "Over and Over Again."

Sykes debuted the new track on Friday, and the only thing that's changed about it is the addition of Grande's incredible vocals.

Sykes said in a statement, "It's such a special song to me, and I'm delighted that I'm able to share this with not only a friend of mine but also somebody who is incredibly talented."

The former boybander originally teased the updated song on Twitter last week, noting that there was "another version" to come with a "very special feature." Low and behold, it's his ex-girlfriend!

Before adding Grande onto the track, Sykes chatted a bit about what went into writing the love ballad with MTV News last year. "I think it's very easy to draw from personal experiences," he said, following his split from Grande. "I wrote about a couple of various relationships, a couple of near-relationships, a couple of people that just needed writing about."

He continued, "It's not really that heartbreaking—it's very emotional. It's just a very nice breakup song…I sat there and said, 'I need to write a nice love ballad,' because all these songs are [about] breakups and near-relationships, like no one loves me," he explained. "So I flew out to LA and I was like, 'Yes, I wrote a nice love song,' and it's really sweet. It made me feel a bit nauseous reading the lyrics, I was in a sappy mood."

This marks the second single off Sykes' upcoming album—the first being "Kiss Me Quick"—as well as the second collaboration with Grande. They also reunited for "Almost Is Never Enough" on her debut album.
