If Ricky Gervais' appearance on the 2016 Golden Globes red carpet is any indication, we're in for one heck of a show.
Our master of ceremonies for the evening and his partner Jane Fallon stopped by for a chat with E! News' Ryan Seacrest on E!'s Live From the Red Carpet before making their way inside and the pair admitted that we might not get be seeing a totally sober Gervais on stage.
After Ricky joked that he was "heavily sedated, under doctor's orders," our man Ryan asked Jane if the comedian likes to drink before he steps out on stage at events like this. Her reply? "Before, during, after..."
Her response led to a fit of giggles and a bit of self-deprecation from the man who's hosted the Globes three times before. "Every time I do something like this, I'm looking forward to it being over, do you know what I mean? Then I can have a little reward," he joked with Ryan before adding, "I'm not cut out for this."
Ricky also opened up about a rather risque string of jokes he told during dress rehearsals for the big event, jokes he admits might can't ever air on TV. "I don't know when I can ever use those jokes, but I just did it for the crowd," he told Ryan. As for why he told them? "To get it out of my system!"
With the alcohol in his system tonight, that might be a good thing.
