If you thought Rick Grimes and the gang were just going to skate on out of that zombie horde we last saw them in like it was no big deal, then you've got another thing coming.

In the first teaser trailer for The Walking Dead's midseason premiere, we get a glimpse at the immediate aftermath of Sam calling out for his mom in last month's midseason finale's gripping final moments, thereby alerting the walkers to the fact that there was hidden food in their midst. Naturally, it's an all-out war.

So what else does the trailer, available above, tease? Well, a to-the-rescue Glenn (Steven Yeun) joining in the walker battle royale, an incredibly distraught Maggie (Lauren Cohan) screaming about, well, something, and a grim Rick (Andrew Lincoln) admitting in voice-over, "I thought living behind these walls was possible. I was wrong."

Oh—and a little someone called Negan.

Now, we don't get a glimpse of the ultra-villain just yet—Jeffrey Dean Morgan doesn't make his first appearance until the season six finale—but the teaser recycles some of that haunting prologue footage we were treated to just following the midseason finale with Abraham, Sasha, and Daryl encountering some of Negan's lackeys. You remember, they're the ones who terrifyingly informed the trio "Your property now belongs to Negan."

Looks like good gory times ahead.

The Walking Dead returns Sunday, Feb. 14 (how romantic!) at 9 p.m. on AMC.
