Watch: Jenny McCarthy on Rob Kardashian's Diabetes Diagnosis

Jenny McCarthy says God gave Rob Kardashian, who was recently hospitalized and diagnosed with diabetes, or high blood sugar, a "warning" to get healthy.

The 43-year-old Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest co-host, who has spoken publicly about her 13-year-old son's battle with the neurological disease autism, adds that she empathizes with the reality star's mother, Kris Jenner.

"Hearing about Rob, I took a moment and went, 'Oh God, I can imagine what Kris Jenner's going through,' because when you have a diagnosis on your child, the world stops and you go, 'I need to focus on my son right now,'" McCarthy told E! News exclusively on Wednesday. "And for Rob, I feel like, you know, he's gone through a lot of emotional stuff, it's time now, this is your big warning. I feel like God gives you a warning to say, 'This is time to clean it up now and take care of you.' So hopefully, he reads that sign and does something about it."

Rob, 28, spent the weekend in a hospital and was diagnosed with diabetes. Upon hearing the news, Kris, 60, headed home from St. Barts, where she has been vacationing with boyfriend Corey Gamble, to be by her son's side.

Rob has been reclusive for more than a year while battling weight gain of an estimated 100 pounds, as well as depression. A source told E! News his health scare was a "wake up call." Doctors have told him that he needs to lose weight, exercise and change his diet dramatically, or the disease could worsen.

McCarthy made her comments days before she is set to appear again on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest to kick off 2016.
