Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been out in theaters for just about a week and the fan theories are already running wild!
Specifically, theories about its main character, newcomer Rey, played by Daisy Ridley. She is a scavenger and quite the feisty warrior. She's a survivor, she's almost fearless and she's a great role model for young girls, sure. But her past remains quite the mystery.
Spoiler alert! Major spoilers ahead! Do not read further unless you've seen the movie or want to be spoiled. This is your final warning...
Rey was seemingly abandoned as a child by her parents on a junkyard of a planet, called Jakku, after undergoing some sort of battle trauma. There, she becomes a scavenger who trades in space artifacts for food. As she joins a quest to find Luke Skywalker, who has gone missing, We later learn that yes, the Force is strong with her.
Furthermore, someone appears to take a special interest in her: The villain Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver, Han Solo and Leia's son and former Jedi pupil of Skywalker, who appears to have left his family and embraced the Dark Side.
Fans have been left speculating: Who are Rey's parents? Why does she have the powers of the Force? Many think her dad is Skywalker, while others suggest she is the long-long daughter of Han Solo and Leia, making her either Kylo Ren's cousin or sister—a super creepy concept if you take into account that some people are already shipping the two (Game of Thrones much?). Others think she is related to Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Social media exploded on Wednesday with the speculation that the mystery may have been solved, thanks to, yep, Disney, owner of all that is Star Wars. Some fans noticed that in the Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars: The Force Awakens video game, Kylo Ren may have revealed Rey's identity in battle.
He yells something at her, which some people claim is "Face me, cousin!"
However, others maintain that what he actually yells is, "Face me! Curses!"

We have quite a while to continue to speculate about Rey's identity—at least a year and a half. Star Wars: Episode VIII is set for release on May 26, 2017.
