Carrie Underwood isn't big on writing and performing love songs, but when she finds the right inspiration, she can do it.

"Heartbeat," the second single off her new album, Storyteller, is the result of her great relationship with husband Mike Fisher, and now the country singer is taking fans behind the scenes of the music video for the track and how it came to fruition. "I really don't do a lot of love songs...it has to really be my story," she explains in the behind-the-scenes video. "We're both so busy and always going places...so it's a good reminder I think for me. Sometimes you just have to make things simpler and escape all the noise. Definitely a lot of us in there."

Underwood wanted her music video to go hand-in-hand with her romantic single, so she chose realistic imagery to reflect her feelings. "I really just wanted to make it an extension of the song," she says. "The things that you should imagine while you're listening to the song, we want to kind of bring those to life."

In her music video Underwood lies in a grassy field underneath the starry, moonlit sky. She also finds herself surrounded by fireflies, which reflects some of her lyrics.

"And tonight I wanna drive so far we'll only find static on the radio / And we can't see those city lights and I love the way you look in a firefly glow / Saying everything without making a sound, a cricket choir in the background, underneath a harvest moon..." she sings.

The American Idol winner glows in her white gown. She explains that she wanted to go for a "beautiful and somewhat glamorous" kind of look, so she and the crew made it like they decided to leave an awards show "a little early and go some place else beautiful."

She admits the song didn't take too long to write, which made her feel even better about it because the inspiration kept flowing out from her.

Underwood also explains how Sam Hunt got involved in the project and why he was the perfect fit for "Heartbeat," so watch the exclusive video to get the scoop!
