Could it be that Adam Sandler and Howard Stern are... grownups now?

The radio host and the star of Netflix's The Ridiculous Six buried the hatchet this morning on The Howard Stern Show during what was Sandler's first-ever sit-down with the shock jock—a match that seemingly would have been made in heaven had they not been trading pot shots for years.

Or make that, if Stern hadn't been making pot shots and Sandler hadn't been rewarding him with steely silence.

"I know Adam Sandler won't come on the show because I've, in the past, criticized his movies...I guess that's the reason, but, am I the only one criticizing the content in his movies?" Stern theorized on the air in 2012. "Certainly I know that a lot of people don't like me, but I still go on their shows. I'm pretty sure this last tour I did everybody who hated me. I mean, but what do I care?"

Well, in walked Sandler today, in the flesh.

"I always felt bad about all the years we didn't speak," Stern offered. "I really did because I was a total f--king a--hole."

"That was after you were nasty to me and I remember the next day you talked about me being an asshole again," Sandler said. "But the reason I didn't say hello was you were saying s--t to me. And I was with my buddy…"

"I was really excited you came in," Stern pulled them back into the now.

"All the boys would tell me, 'You have to do Howard,'" Sandler said, presumably talking about the likes of Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen, Chris Rock and his various other pals who have frequented the Stern show through the years. "And I just, from all the slamming over the years," he shrugged. "And my friends would call me up, like, 'Oooh, well, did you hear what Howard said?'"

Isn't that just like a guy squad? Always teasing.

But what a morning for this years-in-the-making interview, as it came on the heels of the news that Stern has re-upped with Sirius XM to continue hosting and producing his show for another five years. Cue the ecstatic response from his devoted, celeb-heavy fandom.
