Jennifer Lawrence may be one of the most down-to-earth actresses we've ever met, but she'll be the first to tell you she hasn't touched a mop since hitting big in Hollywood.

During a TimesTalk chat on Monday, the 25-year-old actress sat down with director David O. Russell—who she's worked with before on Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle—and New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd to talk a bit about their upcoming film, Joy.

Considering the movie recalls the story of the woman who created the Miracle Mop, Dowd can't help but ask Lawrence about her own personal choice in mops. "I'm gonna be honest," J.Law answered with a smirk on her face. "I haven't mopped my house since the first Hunger Games came out."

LOL! We can't blame her for that one! However, she swears it actually wasn't fame that resulted in her disdain for chores, but rather her obsessive-compulsive mother, Karen, who also happened to be sitting in the audience!

"I have a mother with O.C.D.," Jennifer tells the crowd, avoiding eye-contact with her mom. "She would give us all sorts of chores. 'And you need to do this and you gotta blah blah blah blah.' And you'd listen to it and be like, 'Oh my God!'"

J.Law continues, laughing a bit, "But she couldn't live with it not being done, and nothing ever got done well enough or fast enough. So I knew if I just kept watching TV for five more minutes, she was going to do it. So I got a lot of orders in the morning, but by the afternoon you were doing it."

At this point, we can vaguely hear Karen saying something from the audience, disagreeing with her daughter. "You don't think you have O.C.D.," the actress replies. "You think everyone else is messy!" LOL!

But chores weren't the only personal aspect of her life Jennifer got to chat about. Dowd couldn't help but ask about her relationship status after breaking up with Chris Martin, mentioning J.Law's Vogue article in which she said she'd been spending a lot of time alone.

"This is the problem with press. When you're talking and hanging out with somebody, it's very different when it's written," Jennifer explained. "It's not a sad thing to be alone. I think what I was trying to get across was that I don't feel a lack of something not being in a relationship. I don't feel like there is a hole to be filled."

To this comment, the crowd erupted in laughter and the actress quickly clarified, "An emotional hole to be filled. My dad's here!"

She adds, "I was explaining to David. You know, I'm 25. I'm successful. But I'm a girl. So I'm still always going to be attracted to somebody who impresses me."

Russell interrupted, "It's the contradiction. You yourself are powerful, but you want to be with somebody who is also powerful that you can look up to. But to find someone who can do that but also respect your power and not be threatened by it, that takes a very special thing."

"Yes. So that is why I am alone," J.Law responded with a laugh.
