Ouch! Did someone beat up Batman?
Ben Affleck looked a little worse for wear on the set of his newest film, Live by Night, in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The 43-year-old actor sported a bloody, bruised and bandaged face while wearing a hospital gown, which opened in the back to reveal an enormous, colorful tattoo of a phoenix.
It is unclear if the tattoo is real. He had shown a hint of it over the summer. Affleck also has several other, real tattoos, such as barbed wire across one of his bicep and a dolphin on his lower back.
Live by Night began production in October. Affleck was also photographed on the set last week and earlier this week, wearing cream and brown suits. During one of the sessions, he sported a small bloody bruise below his eye.
The movie is a crime drama set in the '20s. Affleck plays the son of a Boston police captain, who becomes a notorious gangster. Live by Night also stars Sienna Miller, 33, Zoe Saldana, 37, Elle Fanning, 17, Anthony Michael Hall, 47, and The Sopranos and Doogie Howser alum Max Casella, 48. The movie is set for release in 2017.
Affleck can be seen next as Batman / Bruce Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
