ConanGeorge Clooney is so good at pranking people that he sometimes doesn't even know he's doing it. Such was the case when the actor nearly wound up in bed with supermodel Cindy Crawford after a night out with her husband (and his Casamigos Tequila business partner), Rande Gerber.
Cindy regaled the audience with a story of George's escapades on Conan Tuesday. "George Clooney is very good friends with your husband Rande, and I understand that those two enjoy going out on the town together, sometimes having a few drinks," Conan O'Brien said. "Is that fair to say?" Cindy replied that they "have been known to go out and have a few tequilas, yes."
"It's gotten a little out of hand at some point, I understand," Conan said.
"Yes," Cindy said. "George is very well behaved now that he's married to the lovely Amal [Clooney], but there was a time before he met Amal that he and Rande had gone out, and they did ask me if I wanted to come. It was a Sunday night and I stayed home with the kids."
"Sometimes if Rande goes out late he'll go into the guest room because the kids will end up falling to sleep with me in my room," Cindy continued. "So, I got up because I wanted to make sure he was home safe, and I went in the guest room and I see Rande face down on the bed. He still has his motorcycle boots on. And I'm like, 'Really?' So, I go over, I get on the bed and I'm like, 'Hey, babe.' And he looks, and it wasn't Rande. It was George. And I don't know who was more shocked, me or George, because I've woken George out of a dead, slightly inebriated slumber. So, he was like, 'Oh, my God!' and I was like, 'Oh, my God!' And then I ran out."
Thankfully, George didn't get a glimpse of anything he shouldn't have. "I was covered but not as much as I would have normally been covered if I thought I was waking up George Clooney," Cindy said.
After running out of the guest room, Cindy woke up Rande, who had dozed off in their daughter Kaia Gerber's room. "I was like, 'Why is George in our guest room? And why didn't you tell me?'"
Once Rande was wake, they heard George get up and start wandering around the house. "He decides to go down to the kitchen. So, then I hear Rande go down. They're laughing," Cindy recalled. "So, then I go down and we all laughed, and we all thought, 'How funny would it have been if the light would have been on?' Because I would have just gotten in bed. And then we were saying, 'How would George and I have explained that in the morning?' Like, George and I wake up, we just like walk out of the guest room and Rande's like, 'What is going on here?'"
