H&MYou can now deem Katy Perry the Fairy Godmother of the holidays!
The singer's highly-anticipated holiday campaign for H&M has arrived, and it's just as elaborate as we thought it would be! Not only does it come with a new jingle by Perry, but it's also filled with a good amount of craziness and nothing short of extravagance—as is typical for the boisterous singer.
She kicks off the campaign wearing a fairy-like costume, sprinkling the joy of the holiday spirit around as gingerbread men, elves and nutcrackers take over the screen. Later on, we see Christmas trees, dancing teddy bears and candy canes, snow and even a controversial appearance by one of Taylor Swift's pals.
Yes, it appears the two singers share more than just bad blood! The hot male model from Swift's "Blank Space" music video, Sean O'Pry, also makes a shirtless cameo (see the 0:57 mark).
But in light of the holiday spirit, we'll put their beef aside for the moment and focus on the merriness of the campaign.
"I had such a festive time shooting this larger-than-life holiday commercial with Jonas Åkerlund, and all of the fun clothes, especially my favorite, the Elfie Selfie sweater," Perry says of making the video. "H&M has been a part of the evolution of my personal style since I was 13, when I would start to incorporate fun, affordable H&M pieces into my vintage wardrobe."
In fact, she told Yahoo! Style, "I swear, I'm not pitching anything to you here, but when I was a teenager, we didn't have a lot of money, and H&M really changed the game for me. I would go to thrift stores and I would go to H&M, and I would put outfits together for myself, and feel like I looked like a hundred dollars when really, I'd spent maybe $30. And I can still do that now with their clothes!"
In the video, the singer rocks a few of the pieces from the holiday collection—which mixes glamour, style, and fun—like the lipstick-red dress, tuxedos with elegant flyaway sleeves, and a T-shirt embroidered with sequined red bows. Intricate details are everywhere, from fringe on a black mini skirt to embellishments on a cozy Holiday sweater.
Perry tells her fans, "I can't wait for you to give your wardrobe some sparkle with this magical holiday collection!"
