Angelina Jolie is enjoying this next stage of her life.

The 40-year-old Oscar winner revealed her innermost thoughts on aging, particularly how entering into early menopause has had quite the opposite effect on her than one would expect.

"I actually love being in menopause," she admitted to The Daily Telegraph.

After the mother of six had a preventative double mastectomy in 2013 and her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed this past March to avoid a genetically-predisposed breast cancer diagnosis, the new physical changes triggered early menopause, the stage of female health when a woman can no longer reproduce.

"I haven't had a terrible reaction to it, so I'm very fortunate," the actress added. "I feel older and I feel settled being older."

From the time of her first film appearance at 7 years old, Jolie blossomed before the camera's lens. With her undeniably stunning looks, she was dubbed early on in her career as a screen siren, her romantic life plastered across tabloids as the public was captivated by her every private move.

However, the critically-acclaimed actress, who married husband Brad Pitt in 2014 and gave birth to three children with him, is clear to note she doesn't vie for that stage of her life anymore.

"I feel happy that I've grown up," she said. "I don't want to be young again."

It's definitely refreshing to hear a woman speak publicly of menopause in such a positive light, especially since it is a universal element of female health often discussed in less attractive terms.

As evidenced by her latest film in theaters, By the Sea, Jolie certainly seems at ease in this new chapter of her life—and has never looked better.
