The British music mogul is showing off a more sensitive side in a picture posted to Twitter of him enjoying some quality time with his 1 1/2-year-old son, Eric. The former American Idol judge and returning America's Got Talent judge is infamous for his brutal honestly when it comes to critiquing music, but having a child has definitely brought out his more patient and mellow side (and we hope he brings none of it to AGT).
Cowell recently opened up about being none too proud of how he and Eric's mom, Lauren Silverman, got together, but described how incredibly grateful he is for the joy his son has brought him.
"This was not something I planned. But I remember going to the first scan with Lauren, I called him Tad because he looked like a tadpole. Something just kicked in. I felt unbelievably protective of both of them. I just absolutely wanted him. I just hadn't known that before," the X Factor judge told the Mail on Sunday's Event magazine.
Silverman and Cowell's relationship was a bit of a scandal once her pregnancy was revealed because she was still married to now ex-husband Andrew Silverman, who was also friends with the record exec.

"Happiness is a day off work," wrote Cowell alongside the pic of him and the little lad smiling at each other while watching The Jungle Book.
We can't lie...seeing Simon in this adorable setting makes our hearts flutter a little. We can't help but smile as he sheds that tough exterior with the help of his mini-me son.
