Gone, but certainly not forgotten.

Sunday marked a very special day for Bindi Irwin and her family as they helped celebrate Steve Irwin Day. Held every year on Nov. 15, the day is described as an international event honoring the life and legacy of the one and only Crocodile Hunter.

In an Instagram post shared early Sunday morning, the current Dancing With the Stars contestant couldn't help but share how much she misses her father after all of these years.

"The greatest Dad on Earth. November 15. Steve Irwin Day. Remembering everything Dad worked so hard to achieve and continuing his legacy," she wrote as her late father held a crocodile in a throwback photo. "We miss you so much and are extremely proud to be carrying on in your footsteps."

She continued, "Thank you for joining us in making a difference. Wearing our khakis and remember everything Dad did to change the world."

During recent rehearsals, Bindi and her partner Derek Hough showed their support for the "Wildlife Warrior" by wearing matching khaki outfits.

"It's officially #steveirwinday in Australia," Derek wrote on Saturday. "He will always be remembered. #legend #wildlifewarrior @bindisueirwin #teamcrikey4life."

Steve passed away in 2006 following a freak attack by a sting ray. Since then, her daughter has carried on his legacy with her work at the Australia Zoo and with other animal organizations.

"When you lose a loved one, you come to these crossroads," Bindi once said to People. "You can take the path that leads you down the aisle of sadness, or you can say, 'I'm never going to let this person's memory die. I'm going to make sure everything they worked for continues.'"
