Get ready to get gritty.

Esquire's first original scripted show Spotless premieres tonight, and ahead of experiencing the dramedy on the small screen, E! News sat down with the star, Marc-André Grondin, to talk about the highly anticipated series.

"There's a lot of things that drew me to this part and this project in general," Grondin, who plays Jean Bastiere, tells us.

"I thought he was a very interesting character and I felt like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders, and every time he was making a decision, it wasn't necessarily the bad one or the worst choice he could make, but it still necessarily wasn't helping. He was just burying himself into more lies and complicating himself."

Although dealing with his own conflicts, Bastiere seems like a normal guy in London—has a beautiful wife, two kids, great house...oh, and he cleans up crime scenes for a living.

"I didn't get the chance to meet people that are cleaning this type of mess, but doing some research, obviously you think about all the gore, the germs, the worms…what they talk about often is how sad their job is and how important it is," Grondin tells us.

"A lot of them started cleaning because either someone in their family or a friend's family had committed suicide and no one could clean the house or the apartment and someone had to do it, because the police aren't gonna do it."

He continues, "I think it's a really important job to do. It's part of the grief of a family, but at the same time, when they have to clean up an apartment where a body was found and it was rotting for two months, it's the saddest thing because no one was looking for them."

However, his character's life gets turned upside down when his troubled brother Martin (Denis Menochet) comes into town and ends up getting Bastiere involved in some bad (criminal) business with mob boss Nelson Clay (Brendan Coyle).

Combine that with the fact that he's cheating on his wife (oh yeah, scandalous), and you've stirred yourself up a heavy plate of some serious drama.

Watch the clips above to hear more from Marc-André Grondin (and to find out if he's single!) and don't forget to catch the series premiere of Spotless on Esquire tonight at 10 p.m.
