Donald Trump is hosting Saturday Night Live and don't you worry, SNL knows about all the jokes and questions you've been making and they're addressing them in the new promos. SNL cast members Cecily Strong, Jay Pharoah and Sasheer Zamata joined Trump for the spots that use FCC regulations for laughs. There's also the requisite bragging about huge numbers (TV ratings) and at one point Trump takes on fellow Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson.
"So let me just say this: Ben Carson is a complete and total loser," Trump says after Strong reminds him of FCC regulations that restrict his presence to four seconds.
Taran Killam gets in on the fun with his Trump impersonation too.
This is Trump's second time hosting Saturday Night Live. He previously hosted the show in 2004. Sia will be the musical guest on the Saturday, Nov. 7 show.
According to Trump, his hosting gig came about after he was approached to be in a sketch. "It started off as a skit, and I said, 'Alright, I'll do it,'" Trump told CNN's Chris Cuomo. "When they took it up to Lorne Michaels—who's an amazing guy, he's run Saturday Night Live brilliantly for many years and he's a friend of mine—he said, 'Well wait a minute, he'll do the skit. Will he do the whole thing?'" And he called me and said, 'Will you host Saturday Night Live?' and I said, 'It's an honor.'"
Trump hosts Saturday Night Live on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 11:30 p.m. on NBC.
(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
