If you're going to hold an impromptu wedding ceremony, you better go big!

Such was the case for a couple in Pasadena, Calif. on Tuesday night who somehow managed to get Amy Poehler and Carrie Brownstein to conduct a surprise wedding ceremony for them.

Brownstein was hosting a discussion about her latest book, Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl: A Memoir, at the Pasadena Presbyterian Church with Poehler on hand to help with a Q&A session.

However, neither actress expected two female members from the audience to ask them to officiate their impromptu wedding!

An attendee at the event tells Us Weekly Kendall Oshiro and Genevieve Hernandez had heard Brownstein was an ordained minister, so they stood up and asked her to marry them on the spot.

"Amy was visibly excited and shocked, and turned to Carrie [and said] 'You gotta do it!'" the source told the publication. "The crowd cheered and applauded wildly."

Of course Brownstein agreed—she had recently been ordained for a friend's upcoming wedding—and as she took a few minutes to prepare, Poehler helped her out by playing the piano for the crowd. "I only know the first part of 'Greensleeves,'" Poehler announced to the crowd who responded with a roar of laughter.

The whole ceremony lasted under 10 minutes, ending with the same-sex couple kissing as Poehler continued to play the piano. The insider said Brownstein's speech was "sincere, thoughtful and impressive."

What a wedding, indeed!
