Happy throwback Thursday!

Twitch, a social video site for gamers, will be streaming every single episode of The Joy of Painting, featuring lovable, bearded palette-wielder Bob Ross, starting...

Why is Twitch all of a sudden blessing us with this majestic marathon, you ask? According to its blog, the company just launched Twitch Creative, a platform where viewers can specifically watch videos of artists creating their work. Think of it as a YouTube specifically for art! Way cool. Clearly, the only way to celebrate something like this is to air all 403 episodes of the PBS gem. Bob and his brushes will be broadcast over the course of eight and a half days, Twitch notes.

If you've ever needed a reason to play hooky from work or school, this is it. From his soothing commentary to those serious #hairgoals, we're looking forward to catching any and all of these episodes that we possibly can. The broadcast starts today at 2 p.m. PST.

Oh, and fun fact that, if it's a coincidence, is even more amazing: Today was also Bob's birthday. Do the late painter a favor and honor his legacy by getting lost in a canvas of happy trees. We miss you, Bob!

Will you be painting along with the Bob Ross marathon? Let us know in the comments!
