So this is what parenthood looks like for Bridget Jones and Mark Darcy!

Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth were photographed filming a heartwarming family scene for the upcoming movie Bridget Jones's Baby in Oxfordshire, England, Monday. Reprising their roles from 2001's Bridget Jones's Diary and 2004's Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, the 46-year-old actress and the 55-year-old actor doted over a baby while filming an outdoor christening scene. On Sunday, Zellweger was photographed on set with Jim Broadbent, who plays Bridget's father.

Universal Pictures' romantic-comedy film is being directed by Sharon Maguire and was written by Helen Fielding, David Nicholls and Emma Thompson, based on fictional columns by Fielding. The third installment in the franchise follows Bridget as a new mom in her 40s. Though Mark attends the christening, it's unclear who the baby's father is.

Principal photography began on Oct. 2 in London. Zellweger returned to the United States just a few weeks later to attend the L.A. County Walk to Defeat ALS, where she was participating in honor of her friend and publicist Nanci Ryder. Asked about Bridget Jones's Baby at the event, she told E! News, "It's really a nice reunion with old friends. It's always wonderful to be back in London and I love this character, so it's been a real treat to get to revisit it again." Although she never dreamed there would be a third film, Zellweger admitted, "I'm really glad to be doing it."

Patrick Dempsey, 49, joined the Bridget Jones's Baby cast in September.

Hugh Grant, 55, will not reprise his role as Daniel Cleaver.

The first two Bridget Jones films have earned over $540 million combined.

Bridget Jones's Baby is in theaters on Sept. 16, 2016.

(E! and Universal Pictures are both members of the NBCUniversal family.)
