Jeb Bush is a fan of Supergirl, well, at least he's a fan of the way Melissa Benoist looks as the iconic DC Comics superhero in the red and blue costume.

When asked about his favorite superhero during a question and answer session in Las Vegas, the Republican presidential candidate said an ad for Supergirl piqued his interest, but he's also a Batman fan.

"I saw that Supergirl is on TV," Bush said. "I saw it when I was working out this morning. There's an ad promoting Supergirl. She looked kind of—she looked pretty hot. I don't know what channel it's on, but I'm looking forward to that."

Bush then pointed out his comments would make news. Surprise! He's right. How about praising the fact that Supergirl is coming to TV and it's the first female-fronted comic book superhero show coming to broadcast TV in years?

The Supergirl costume was created for TV by Colleen Atwood and Benioist told E! News the minute she put it on, something changed within her.

"I had just had this injury so I had this eye patch on. It was kind of embarrassing," Benoist told E! News in the video below about the very first time she tried on the costume. "But the second I put it on, something shifts inside of me. It's kind of impossible not to feel strength and empowerment and positivity and hope. It really is pretty surreal."

Take note, Jeb Bush.

Supergirl premieres Monday, Oct. 26, at 8:30 p.m. on CBS.
