American Horror Story: Hotel's Biggest Reveals and Theories: Could Alex Be The Countess’ Offspring?

Horror Story's family tree got a whole lot more interesting tonight

"Hi, mommy."

Anyone else feel like their heart leapt through mouth in that moment tonight, as Alex came face to face with her tragically lost son Holden in the hotel hallway?

Other shows might wait all season for such a pivotal reunion, but clearly American Horror Story: Hotel is not holding back this season.

Still, the biggest question remains: What connection do John, Alex and Holden have to the hotel and The Countess (Lady Gaga)? And after spotting Gaga wearing a baby bump and shooting scenes at season one's Murder House last week, we are filled with some crazy theories…

FOX

CRAZIEST THEORIES

Alex Is The Countess' Great-Granddaughter. Based on the photo taken of Gaga with a baby bump shooting for AHS, we can only assume that the Countess was truly pregnant at one point—most likely in the 1930s when she was married to Mr. March, the serial killer who built the hotel.  And let's be real here, this theory could be WAY off base, but doesn't the similarity between Alex and The Countess strike you as a bit too coincidental? The fair skin, the blonde hair, their facial features? Perhaps The Countess was "stealing" her own great-great grandchild Holden from the carousel? It just feels like there must be some sort of connection between The Countess and Alex and John and their children, as they are all the core of the show. And if it is true that The Countess and Holden are related then…What about the other kids in her Jelly Bean Lair? Offspring, too?

The Countess Went to Season One's Murder House—Possibly for an Abortion. Gaga also shot scenes recently at the Murder House from season one of American Horror Story, which had been spruced up with fresh paint and detailing, and had some 1930s-looking cars parked outside. The Murder House, of course, was originally home to Dr. Charles Montgomery, a surgeon to the stars turned back-alley abortionist (who of course resurrected a baby into the horrifying "Infantata" #neverforget). Of course, Murder House was another place in which anyone who died there would haunt it and never leave…Just like Hotel Cortez. Did The Countess somehow pick up the "virus" there? Crazy theory, surely, but stranger things have happened on this show.

FX

Season One's Tate Is the Grandson of The Countess and Mr. March. Tate, of course, was Evan Peters' season one character—the teen psychopath who turned out to be a "ghost" and the son of Constance (Jessica Lange). Which would make Constance the daughter of The Countess and March, and Tate (Evan Peters) the grandson of March (Evan Peters) and now my head hurts. The Murder House connection is probably a fleeting little cameo just for poops and giggles, but thinking of how both shows could be related, given that Ryan Murphy himself has said that all the AHS seasons are part of one universe, is a fun little rabbit hole to go down for a minute.

Back to reality: American Horror Story: Hotel's fourth episode airs next Wednesday and it's time for the Halloween episodes, which eeevvveeerrryone loves. This time, including Darren Criss as an arrogant hipster and Lily Rabe as infamous serial killer Aileen Wuornos. Win!

Plus, it looks like Alex will get to confront The Countess about her son, and everyone's sitting down for what must be the absolute dinner party from hell.
