Robin Williams Genie Outtakes, Aladdin

In case you needed yet another reminder that the late Robin Williams as the Genie one of the best animated characters of all time, Disney has released some incredible outtakes from the 1992 classic film Aladdin. The footage includes one-liners that never made it into the final film and classic Robin Williams bits that unfortunately had to go on the cutting room floor.

To celebrate the release of Aladdin's Diamond Edition, Disney is including never-before-seen scenes of Robin Williams as the Genie on the Blu-ray pack. The new content includes some epic Jafar mockery and amazing zingers after he rescues his buddy Aladdin from drowning.

Screenplay writers Ron Clements and John Musker both wrote the part of the Genie for Robin Williams, and when you get an incredible comedian and improver like that behind the mic, you're bound to end up with hours and hours of hilarious takes.

"There was no one else that could be the Genie and fortunately he agreed to do it. And he worked so hard. We recorded him in four hour sessions, and he would be going four hours straight…by the end he was just drenched," Musker said on Good Morning America about Williams' legacy. "He had so much energy and so much passion."

"Aside from being funny as anything, he was such a warm person," Animator Eric Goldberg added. "He was the Genie—it was bigger than life."
