We've got Emmy drama.

When Viola Davis won her history-making Best Actress award last month, her speech about the racial inequalities facing women in Hollywood won her fans the world over. She received a standing ovation for her pronouncement that "You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there." Celebrities and activists alike praised her words and choked up, no thanks to lines like "So here's to all the writers...people who have redefined what it means to be beautiful, to be sexy, to be a leading woman, to be black."

Except, it seems, for Whoopi Goldberg.

The co-host of The View expressed an altogether different opinion on the matter, in an interview with BET.

"Well, I'm not sure what it means. Opportunity to do what?" she questioned, referring to Davis' statement that the only thing separating women of color is opportunity. "Do you know what I mean? The truth of the matter is there's been plenty of opportunity. I mean, Scandal. Let's just start with that. Kerry Washington is there and she's working her booty off, okay? But they didn't vote for her. So, maybe the question is, what do you have to do to get voted on? That's the thing."

Goldberg went on to say that because Davis won, she thinks there will be more women of color on TV.

While the host tried to imply that she wasn't sure what Davis meant in her speech, it's safe to say that this is one statement that doesn't come off in the best light. Not that Whoopi is any stranger to controversy, of course—it seems to be a resounding theme among all the women of The View

But despite the negative sentiments, something tells us Viola Davis isn't going to lose any sleep over this one.
