Fashion school dropout? Not Amanda Bynes.

The 29-year-old actress has enrolled back in school at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), her parents' lawyer Tamar Arminak confirmed to E! News.

"We are all so proud of her," added the Bynes' attorney, "and can't wait to see her amazing designs on the runway someday." (People first reported the story.)

The former child star first enrolled in courses at FIDM's Orange County, Calif., campus back in January 2014. At the time, a source told E! News that she was "originally going to be a fashion design major but has now decided to pursue merchandise product development."

During her first semester enrolled, a source exclusively told E! News Bynes was "a great student who always participated and really cared about her classes," adding that the former child star, "really fit in and loves her school."

She was reportedly still enrolled at FIDM in July 2014, but did not attend classes during the summer break. By the Fall of 2014, however, Bynes had made a tumultuous return to New York. Although she tweeted about potentially transferring to "NYU or Columbia," she ultimately returned to the West Coast in October and was temporarily placed under a psychiatric hold at a treatment facility.

When Bynes was released from the psychiatric hospital in November, she tweeted that she had been diagnosed as bipolar and manic depressive. Her mother Lynn Bynes was appointed her temporary conservator, although Bynes insisted she was "on medication and I'm seeing my psychologist and psychiatrist weekly" in the hopes of getting "unconserved."

Before the end of 2014, Bynes tweeted about her hopes of transferring to the University of Southern California. She seemed to be in good spirits over the holidays when she posted a Christmas Day selfie, and by early-2015, things seemed to be taking a turn for the better.

In February 2015, a source told E! News Bynes was "doing really great and is very healthy,"adding, "She is focusing on reading, yoga and reconnecting with her family..She is trying to live a more balanced life."

Aside from a select few public appearances (including one this past summer at designer Michael Costello's party), Bynes has largely maintained a low-profile throughout the past year.
