When you're working on American Horror Story, there's a good chance you will be dealing with some pretty gruesome and frightening stuff, sometimes even your greatest fears. That's what the American Horror Story: Hotel cast learned.

"[Ryan Murphy] seems to keep playing with them and putting them in the scripts," Wes Bentley said of his fears, with a laugh, mind you. "I'm going to stop telling him what they are because they keep showing up."

American Horror Story: Hotel is dealing with addiction this year. There's also the whole haunted and horrific hotel element and somehow the Ten Commandments, quasi-vampires, a featureless being with a drill bit gold dildo and Matt Bomer's endless jawline all mixed in.

"I'm terrified of hotels," Ryan Murphy told E! News. "I had an instance where somebody broke into my room once when I was in the bed. I feared for my life."

What happened to Ryan Murphy and what's got Wes Bentley so afraid? Hint: It's not Matt Bomer's jawline. Bentley, Kathy Bates and Denis O'Hare all reveal their fears in the video up top.

American Horror Story: Hotel airs Wednesdays, 10 p.m. on FX.
