Move over, Barry Allen! Our beloved scarlet speedster isn't the only Flash in town anymore. In the season two premiere of The Flash, we'll meet Jay Garrick, a.k.a. The Flash—on Earth 2. And, as you saw in the trailer, he comes bearing bad news. "I'm Jay Garrick, and your world is in danger," he tells the STAR Labs team.

In the comics, Jay is also The Flash—in the parallel world of Earth 2. While you'll have to wait to find out why he's in town to warn Barry and co. of the danger they're facing—and how he got there, for that matter—Teddy Sears, who plays the new addition to the CW show, talked about how cool it was to embody a superhero.

"It's thrilling, but I didn't anticipate how thrilling it was going to be when I said yes," he reveals. "Besides the obvious stuff, that suddenly I'm 8 years old running around in the backyard playing superheroes with my friends, that's sort of a given that that would happen."

But in addition to that, as he began filming, "there was something important that began happening—most specifically putting on the helmet."

The helmet might not make an appearance in the premiere, but as you can see in the photos the network released, it definitely happens—and soon.

While Jay and Barry might not get along well at first, they will quickly grow close.  "It's sort of a coach-athlete relationship," explains Flash writer Todd Helbing, who co-wrote the second episode of the new season, "Flash of Two Worlds," which will answer many questions surrounding Jay's arrival. "Jay is the older brother that he didn't have. He's more experienced, his attitude is a little more confident, and I think he's just the teacher to him."

The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
